Under the leadership of Rev Fr Tomasito Veneracion, the Samaritans Ministry of St Mary’s Catholic Church organized a first of its kind day out for domestic workers and home makers across all nationalities and communities. About 200 persons who had pre-registered in this fun filled day participated. The activities included half-a-day’s site seeing tour of Dubai which was both educational and fun followed by lunch and recreational activities in a local park.
The day began with prayer led by Rev Fr Stalin Varghese, followed by a sumptuous breakfast at the Bur Dubai Creek with a glimpse of Dubai's heritage. The group was then taken for a tour of Dubai’s famous landmarks including Burj Al Arab, with a view of the Atlantis; Ski Dubai, the glittering downtown Dubai and a photo session at world renowned Burj Khalifa. Lunch was served at Mushrif Park when our parish priest joined the group and interacted with them. The evening witnessed recreation at the park.
It was a memorable day with spiritual fellowship and bonding together with games, fun activities, ice-breakers, dances and spot prizes. Feedback from the participants was that despite the heat such a group activity should be conducted more than once a year. It was a fabulous and action packed day for everyone who participated.
