The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity called on people all over the world to pray to God for an end to the coronavirus pandemic on 14 May, the Emirates News Agency, WAM reported on 3 May 2020.
Bishop Paul Hinder, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, has invited the Catholic faithful in the UAE and Oman to observe the day of prayer and supplication for the end of the pandemic. “I welcome the initiative of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity and invite our faithful to join in the day of prayer. May God bring a swift end to the pandemic”, he said.
Earlier, on 04 May, Pope Francis welcomed the proposal of the committee and implored God’s help for the end of the pandemic:

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, responded to the call of the Higher Committee and has asked all people everywhere to be united against the challenge of the pandemic in asking for God’s mercy.Thank you for your statement and call, your Highness and @HumanFraternity The Catholic Christian Community will be united in prayer together with our Bishop @PaulHinder and our Holy Father Pope Francis, asking God Almighty to grant us His mercy in the fight against the pandemic.
